SuperVirals HQ has received a stack of emails from new members who are keen to enter the competitions, but want a few pointers on how to make ideas…
As always, SuperVirals HQ is happy to help!
Whether you’re doing a photo or creating a video entry, the same basics apply:
• Make your idea single-minded!
• Make it BOLD!
• Make it unexpected!
Ideas that stand out and get shared have higher SuperVirals Scores - giving you the best possible chance of landing the competition prize!
PHOTO TIPS…
If the idea allows, upload your final image in landscape (wide not tall…) format. This will ensure it is displayed with as much impact as possible on the SuperVirals website.
You should also make sure your image is cropped well so that it displays the idea with maximum punch!
If you’re on a PC there are lots of simple and free and inexpensive photo editing tools such as Windows Photo Gallery (pre-installed on most PCs) that are easy to learn and use.
If you use an Apple computer then programs such as Preview or iPhoto (pre-installed on Macs) or PhotoShop Elements will enable you to easily crop images and photos.
VIDEO TIPS…
The most popular duration for viral videos is around two minutes – so it’s best to try and keep your video under this time.
To achieve this you will probably need to do a bit of simply editing. Most computers come with simple editing software pre-installed.
If you’re on a PC you will find the pre-installed Windows Movie Maker easy to use. Or you can do a search for ‘Free video editing software’ to find other options.
If you’re an Apple user the pre-installed iMovie software is your best bet to edit your idea and add simple sound effects etc. There are also plenty of other options you can find with a simple web search to make your video entry.
Whichever type of computer you are using, you should save your video as one of the acceptable file formats to ensure the best possible quality and a smooth upload.
The best file types to upload are QuickTime, MPEG-4 or WMV and make sure the file size does not exceed 20 MB.

The winners of the SNKR FRKR tee design competition have been confirmed after a close battle that included 173 entries.
Designers from 14 countries including the USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Brazil, Singapore and The Netherlands fought for the glory of having their original design included in the upcoming SNKR FRKR range.
After a closely run race the top three designers, Moua2Ya, BLeS24 and BORN have been verified as the winners. Winner verification includes electronic and manual checking of voting patterns and identity confirmation of the creator.
As well as receiving 10 of their manufactured tee design, the guys also score five issues of Sneaker Freaker Magazine each too.
In first place is Moua2Ya with his design ‘Two of a Kind’ finishing with a SuperVirals Score of 650.
In second place is BLeS24 with his design ‘bubbly’ finishing with a SuperVirals Score of 624.
In third place is BORN with his design ‘snkrfrkrXmotörhead’ finishing with a SuperVirals Score of 582.

The budding director from Sydney, Australia has picked up the cool $3,000 prize and plans to get a new video camera with his winnings.
There were stacks of great entries in the competition from every corner of the globe so well done to all involved.
SuperVirals has also received enquiries regarding several of the ideas from a film production company in Los Angeles and a broadcast design facility in Sydney. The individual creators have been contacted and we wish them luck moving forward with their creative careers.

As this is a design competition, we have introduced a VOTE button so logged in users can choose to increase the SuperVirals Score of their favourites ideas.
You can still join the debate and post comments about the individual ideas but this will not contribute to the score of the idea – only votes count!
Logged in users can add a vote to designs they like once in every 24 hour period – so keep involved for the duration of the comp to help decide which ideas get pushed to the top!
